2016 Leaves of Hope and Cancer Survivors Celebration

Sunday, June 5, 2016

Thank you to all of our 2016 Leaves of Hope Run/Walk and Cancer Survivors Celebration participants! Your support helped to make this event one of the best years yet! We had nearly 700 participants, ranging from infants in strollers to octogenarians! With your support, together we raised over $100,000 through Leaves of Hope to support Cancer Cents of Colorado at Lutheran Medical Center. Cancer programs such as survivorship, patient navigation and genetic counseling will benefit. View race results from this year by clicking the link above, and save the date for next year - Sunday, June 4, 2017!

Leaves of Hope Race

Leaves of Hope features scenic and fast 5K and 10K courses, a 1-mile family walk, kids’ dash, live entertainment, door prizes  for cancer survivors, a huge health and safety fair, kids’ activities and more.

This year's race will feature a special sculpture dedication of "Rooted in Hope", created by Wheat Ridge High School's STEAM class as a symbol of hope and healing.

Since 2008, over one hundred companies and thousands of participants have joined the event to celebrate survival and to benefit Lutheran’s cancer survivorship program, genetic counseling program, patient navigation, survivor and nurse education and patient care on the oncology unit.

Course and Event Info:

Leaves of Hope offers fun, fast and scenic run/walk courses and fun for the whole family!

The 10K Run is your only chance this year to run Crown Hill Lake Park, a jewel of Jefferson County Open Space, with its breathtaking views of the Front Range.

The 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Family Walk wind through the scenic, tree-lined Lutheran Medical Center campus and established neighborhoods of Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

The Survivor Walk is a time to recognize and celebrate the resilient survivors in our community as they walk on Lutheran's beautiful campus.

There will be a sculpture dedication of "Rooted in Hope" created by Wheat Ridge High School's STEAM class to inspire hope and healing for Lutheran Medical Center's patients.

The City of Wheat Ridge Kid's Dash is a fun, free event for our littlest survivor supporters (six and under) near the course start line.

All courses are dog- and stroller-friendly, and medals will be awarded to the top finishers!
